  • One-hour sessions one to two times per week

  • Providing support for students who need extra help, but do not require intensive O-G intervention

Individuals with learning challenges in reading, writing, and spelling, are frequently confronted with barriers that prevent success in obtaining proficient language skills. Orton Gillingham tutoring is an instructional approach to teaching these skills, addresses the individual's needs and challenges, and helps achieve a person’s highest potential. This approach to language learning has also shown great success when adapted to individuals with difficulties in learning math skills.

Provides personalized, therapeutic, one-on-one Orton Gillingham tutoring, in the Maple Ridge, Mission, Pitt Meadows, Hammond, Coquitlam, and Port Coquitlam areas, in BC, Canada. Sessions are available during the day as well as after school, to students with language based learning challenges.

How does Orton-Gillingham (O-G) therapeutic tutoring work?
 

The Orton-Gillingham approach to reading instruction was developed in the early-20th century. It is language-based, multisensory, structured, sequential, cumulative, cognitive, and flexible. The Orton-Gillingham approach has been in use since the 1930s. An intensive, phonics-based approach teaches the basics of word formation before whole meanings. The approach accommodates and utilizes the three learning modalities........................
